Water & drainage
Too much, too little, or at the wrong moment: water sits behind more plant trouble than anything else.
Most wilting, yellowing and splitting starts with water. Roots in soggy soil drown; roots in dry soil cannot keep up; roots that swing between the two crack fruit and rot its base. Check the soil a finger's depth down before you treat anything else.
